Fred del Barrio joined a weight loss program in March 2022 and has since lost 57 pounds. He has struggled with weight fluctuations throughout his life, influenced by life changes and unhealthy habits. Despite trying various diets, including a keto diet and an HCG diet, he found them unsustainable. The Fella Program has been different for Fred, focusing on understanding and addressing the root causes of his eating habits, such as stress eating and food addiction. His initial goal was to reach 210 pounds, which was later adjusted to 200 pounds and then 190 pounds. Currently, he is at 182 pounds, emphasizing the importance of maintaining muscle mass to avoid metabolic changes.
Well, my name is Fred del Barrio, and I joined the program in March of 2022, and so far, Iʼve lost 57 pounds. Iʼve been thinner, you know, when I was much younger, you know, and then gradually, you know, you get married, you have kids, your habits change, you know, just grew bigger and bigger. And then I would lose weight and then come back. Had several discussions with friends of mine, you know, kind of this same situation, and we talk about, oh, you know, well, thatʼs the weight that, you know, I bounce back to that, you know, thatʼs, thatʼs what my my body says my weight is really. Iʼve kind of found out on the Fella program that itʼs, itʼs excuses, you know, to go, to go back to the old weight. Tried several, uh, weight loss programs. Most seriously, it was probably the like a keto diet. And also, I did an HCG diet. I found a lot of success with it. As far as weight loss, the problem was, is that itʼs not a sustainable diet. You kind of learn how to eat, but, you know, there is no support to learn why you eat the way you eat. You know, when you stress eat, or you know that you have an addiction to food. And those things that you know, those are things that Iʼve learned on Fella. When I first found out about the program and started looking into it, I wanted to make sure that it was something, that it was going to be sustainable for the rest of my life. You know, it started with a goal. I was at 256. I started with a goal of being to 210, and I thought that was my best way to be at my coach and my doctor, you know, said, you know, that that was good. And then as I started getting closer to that 210, we adjusted it to 200 and then 190. Not at 190 yet, but now itʼs a 182. You know. And itʼs really looking at BMI and, you know, body fat percentage and thing on those things, you know, because you know, muscles important. You canʼt lose muscle, because if you lose your muscle, youʼre going to change your metabolism as well, you know, so really the Fella Program is very well rounded.
